Epoxy over Perma Gloss?

I am looking for advice on whether I can apply Threadmaster thread epoxy over Perma Gloss applied to the thread wraps. I have thread wraps over my carbon fiber wrap and applied Perma Gloss to the threads and carbon fiber, one coat. I would like to add more depth to the thread wraps (not the carbon fiber). I know I can apply more coats of Perma Gloss on the threads, but I plan to use Threadmaster on the guide wraps and would like all the thread wraps to match. So, can I apply Threadmaster over the PG?

Bob,
I suggest that you take a scrap blank and replicate your current situation and then apply the thread master over the PG.

It has been said that it will work fine. However, to be sure, check for yourself and then let us know your test results.

Take care

No problem, you can put a coat of epoxy over the Permagloss, have done it many times before. Just make sure it’s cured overnight.

The difference in thread transparency will become apparent unless your using black thread. Permagloss is not as see through as epoxy in my experience, just Permagloss everything before the final finish.

Yes, you can do it. As Norman said, make very sure the PermaGloss is completely cured. I would give it 3 days.
