Anyone ever build on one of the NFC ice blanks? Is the Zentron as awesome as they say and worth the money? Re: North Fork Composites Ice Blanks

Not quite sure what you mean Pat.... I'm looking at them right now and for me it's saying free shipping. I did just notice too, that while the price on the website said $45 for the 33" UL, when I added it to my cart it said $22.50. Re: North Fork Composites Ice Blanks

Even with the FET, that still comes in at 27 bucks...Guess I'll give it a try.
Now just to hope that "Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery" on the order confirmation screen is just a conservative CYA message..... Re: North Fork Composites Ice Blanks

$35 for shipping is rather steep, considering that there are blanks coming from New Zealand are $30 for shipping. Local shipping at that rate tells me its far overpriced, especially for an ice rod blank. Plus, they're advertising charging for FET. I'm not a fan of passing the buck. I was looking at their fly rod blanks until I saw both their shipping charges AND FET. I'd shop elsewhere. Re: North Fork Composites Ice Blanks

I agree that 35 bucks for shipping is really steep....that's why I didn't pay it.
As far as the FET goes, NFC is the manufacturer and they're required by law to collect it from the customer. If you shop anywhere else like Mud Hole, Git Bit or Angler's Workshop, you're still paying the FET, it's just that it's baked into the price that they're charging you already, because either they paid it when they got it from the manufacturer, or their distributors paid it when they got it from the manufacturer. If anything, the whole supply chain leading up to the final point of sale in that case is "passing the buck". Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
