Hey Guys,
I just came across a huge lot of Diamondback blanks. Easily over 100 blanks, mostly spigot ferrule, but most with no markings. Trying to match up butts/tips. Anybody have an old blank catalog that I can use to come up with series and wt info? Maybe these were left when the business closed down, maybe seconds, no idea. Any info is appreciated. Rick,
I might be able to help you out, have a couple catalogs on Diamondback. The "no markings" thing kinda surprises me, Diamondback did mark their blanks that were for sold as blanks, but they did do "third party" work to, some even had the "Diamond Weave" pattern, LL Bean was a customer at one time, Cabela's also had blanks made for them by Diamondback to name two. I do know that their S2 Glass Fly Blanks were not marked when sold as blanks. This would be stuff that was rolled in Vermont. This past summer I was contacted by a guy down in Alabama that bought a huge lot of their blanks, he was going thru the same issue as you, his were all spin and casting blanks, most were marked. I had heard that Cortland did do a "clean out" of their factory and storage building and these were found, and off loaded. Email me, and I can send you back a phone number.
