Hello all. I am about to re-wrap a Kencor Magnaglas 13-3 surf rod, and would like some advice on what might be a good way to do this (number of guides, types of guides, maybe some thoughts from people who may know this blank) This is for a conventional reel, maybe a Penn 4/0, maybe some lighter reels like a Diawa Millionaire , not sure yet. I am thinking that I need to go cast this thing as is, to get an idea of what weight range it might cast best. It is not a total noodle, but is not stiff. I believe that it is a 15-30 line class.
I am thinking about the Hilo style guides, due to them being super tough and inexpensive. Any recommendations on the number of guides, guide sizes, and if Hilo guides might be a good choice? Anyone like this blank? Thank you, in advance. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
