So this seems like a remarkably good price for a utility fly rod. Anyone know about these? Were they made years ago?
The tip size stands out to me. It's significantly larger than I would have expected. Any reason not to use one of these for Chuck and Duck Kenai fishing? Thinking about ordering a couple for a test run. Drew Re: Diamondback Fly blanks

These would be the latest generation of Diamondback, about 2-4 years old. Cortland sold off the "Diamondback Brand" to a former employee/investors, they tried to make a go at it. Rods/Blanks were manufactured overseas. Other than the name, no affiliation to the old Vermont Diamondback Company. I did test cast some of the Glass offerings, decent stuff. The rumor mill was that they had the taper spec's for the original Diamondback stuff, but really not known if they tried to copy it. I do know where the mandrels wound up for the original Diamondback stuff, Mike McFarland got all that plus the manufacturing equipment. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
