I'm looking for some Do's and Don'ts for building a surf rod. Resources are limited to parts and pieces and Ive been doing this long enough to know that I should put my ego in my pocket and let the opinions fly before I tackle a 10' project. Customer wants a 10' (2) piece spinning set up with EVA grips. The SU1207F-2-MHX is his first choice and I am a long time believer in Fuji components.
If you some failures or successes with these sticks please feel free to elaborate.... Re: Surf Rod Layout

I'm going to throw this into the post as I saw you were mentioning EVA grips.
If you want to take it a step further, Mudhole has this 25% off sale going on right now on Winn grips. Don't know if you've ever used Winn grips before, but every time I put them on a rod, there is never a complaint! This is a 9" to 12" piece to look at ... [www.mudhole.com] These are all the Winn grips for sale. All you need is a seat, butt cap and winding checks if you use them and you'll have an excellent handle build.
