Has anyone built a rod using either of these blanks for catfish. Need to build several, main use will be open lake, casting 2 to 3 ounce sinkers plus bait, 20lb,or 25lb mono. Fish average 7lb to 15lb, with the occasional 15 plus. Re: Rainshadow SWB80ML or RCLB79ML

Scheider's has a ISWB 945 swimbait rod blank that looks like it will do the job at a great price, being 2 inches shorter you may get a break on shipping costs also. Re: Rainshadow SWB80ML or RCLB79ML

Those two are our typical recommendation for catfish blanks, though since you're throwing a little on the heavier side I'd recommend the RCLB79ML James Taylor Batson Enterprises BatsonEnterprises.com | RainShadowRodBlanks.com | ALPSForeCast.com | Build2Fish.com Re: Rainshadow SWB80ML or RCLB79ML

Butch, the SWB 80 ML might be one of the best all purpose blanks on the planet. Good price point as well. Re: Rainshadow SWB80ML or RCLB79ML

Thanks Kevin, have you built any rods on using this blank, If so what were/are your thoughts, specifically flex. I built a rod on a different mod-fast, med-hvy blank and don’t like the flex in this particular blank. Re: Rainshadow SWB80ML or RCLB79ML
