Beginner equipment

I am a beginner to the craft. I'm looking for recommendations for a pretty complete package kit. I tend to jump into everything with both feet so I am looking for a power wrapper and all of the normal accessories. I had the extreme pleasure of learning some of the basics from the late and very great Ken Preston. Ken lived several miles from me and allowed me to pop in unannounced and bug him with 1 million beginner questions. Ken repeatedly showed me how to do things the right way and watched as I botched them the first time or two.Ken was a great guy and a terrific artisan. That said, it's been a number of years since I did anything so will have to resort to videos for some refresher training. Thanks for your recommendations everyone.

Welcome to rod building. I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Preston but I am sure he taught you some great things.

We have great information and videos on our website and youtube channel that will help get you moving. Our Small Business Kit is a great place to start and is upgradable to a power wrapper in the future. Our equipment is OEM quality and built to last. Here is a link to that kit:
