I am building a couple NFC MB736 X Ray's and was considering micro guides. Would fuji be the best option or are the other manufacturers putting quality micro guides out there? I have pretty much used fuji exclusively and looking to see what else is out there.

Pac Bay, and Batson/ Alps are stronger, have longer feet, if you want them, more variety in colors and size. I believe Schreider's has them in his special black frame, gold ring also.

My new go to manufacturer is Sea Guide. They have styles that are similar to what Fuji has discontinued that I still like for certain applications. They also have Ti Frames that are available and are about 20% less than the comparable Fuji guides. Alps, American Tackle and Pac Bay also make great guides but I am not sure they are stronger than Fuji. What I look for in a guides is; the welds holding up, the ring staying seated and being corrosion resistant. The only way to know for sure is to put them on a rod and find out. They are all going to have some kind of limitations.

Everyone has their favorites and their facts. Mine are that I've never had a problem with a Fuji guide. Period. Plus they are well finished, like jewelry on the rod, plenty of options, CC (corrosion control) stainless frames available at very reasonable cost. . Not lacking in foot strength, use a couple KB's on the lower rod, KT's on the top where weight is more of a priority than foot size. With a Forhan wrap no micro will pull out. The KR setup with KLH's is easy to size, lay out, and they simply work well. A tangle along the rod is a rare event.

I feel the same as Micheal, I use Fuji KB/KT guides. I trust them and they work great.

Just got some seaguide ti frame guides, they look pretty good I haven’t got a chance to use them yet but they are nice. I had a small issue with one guide and the customer service was great I had a new one in just a few days.

Steve , which Alps do you recommend and are they all single foot guides or do you use a double foot first guide?

Depending on what rod is going to be used for? I mostly stick with these 2 options.
where sensitivity is not as much of an issue I mostly stick with this model

on rods where more sensitivity is desired and also on more expensive builds I'll use

Using a single or double guide depends also on the build.
On most builds I'll start with a 6 mm single foot stripper guide then step down 5 mm--4 mm then 3's for running guides.

On flipping and pitching sticks, I'll either start with 8 mm or 10 mm double ft. guides and usually a double 6 mm for my second, then 5-4-3's to the tip
The reason for the second double ft guide: is that all the rods I build are spiral wrapped , and with the monster hooks sets anglers tend to use with that stile of fishing I like the added
security of the double ft. in that offset location

X3 Absolutely right on, and the double frame support is by far the most important aspect in preventing wind knots aka tangles

X4 I have never had a Fuji guide fail ever. I think they have the best fit, finish, and corrosion resistance as well. Have used a few Alps as well and have been pleased with these too.

My opinion is similar.
Want to do cheap buy all the other guides.
Want to do well, buy FUJI guides.
