I applied a coat of flex coat high build to my first build yesterday, and it seems to have cured up really well. I want to put a second coat on to cover up pinhole size dimples on one guide and I have a couple of tag ends that need cutting off.

This morning I went to inspect the rod after being on the drying rack for just about 24 hours. One of my littles decided to put their paws on the butt wrap before I could stop them (lesson learned). Going off the assumption that I have zero idea what could have been on said grubby paws, what would be safe to clean the epoxy with between coats?

Absolutely not!!!!

If you want to do something between coats and need to do something about paw prints, just use a sanding pad with 1200 grit material on the surface, and then use blue low tack painters tape to tack off the sanded area.

No solvents or cleaners of any kind please.

Doubtful that the epoxy will be hard enough to scuff or sand for at least 3 to 4 days.

But do not wipe it with a cleaner or solvent.
