I'm very familiar with the Penn LC models , i was contacted by Mike Rice of Penn to see if i was interested in field testing the first 7500 LC long cast , great casting reel but the weight of it was a killer . You have many choices even a KR type setup although 40 pound braid is on the heavy side for that and i'm sure you don't want to pay for an RV 25 which would be the perfect guide to start your reduction train with .

Single foot KL-H guides are an option but if the rod takes abuse i would go with double foots , unfortunately Fuji doesn't offer a double foot guide in the 25 size ring outside the RV series that is tall enough to work well so a KW 30 would be the choice and with 40 pound braid it's not a bad choice but not the best either. You would be looking for something along the lines of a 30, 20,12,7,7,7,7,7 or a 30,16,10 ,6,6,6,6,6 etc , 30 ,25 ,12, 8 ,8,8,8,8,8 etc.. it's all experimentation with this stuff , you just adjust and test cast adjust and test cast .............

What do you plan on throwing the most , bait , artificial's and what weight ranges will you be throwing the most ?

You got to figure out what your throwing and if the running guides are large enough to pass the knots and leader sizes you plan on using.
