Ring weights RS VS D1 steel rings.

Okay for all the techies out there, I have had lots of emails in regards to our RS rings so I thought I would make a quick post. The RS rings are silicon nitride. The rings are among the lightest, thinnest, strongest and smoothest made. Lots of you guys love the steel ring Minima guides, very light and slim. Here is a comparison on just ring weights, no frame. SeaGuide offers the RS rings in nearly every frame at a great price point. If you have not tried a set, you should. Silicon Nitride was developed for ball bearings in jet engines, that is how durable the material is.

Weight in grams 5 6 7 8 10 12
Silicon Nitride .032 .041 .061 .072 .113 .183
D1 Stainless .041 .065 .103 .124 .195 .257

Thank you to everyone that has tried out these guides. Only complaint I have had is availability. Most are in stock in the US now.
