Metallic thread stability

I've had the metallic explode off spool. So I'm doing some thread art using metallic (cause I have so much) when I'm having difficulty getting the saran off. By pure accident I get the loose thread end free and snatch on it in hopes of splitting the saran. Instead it unloads from the spool as if saran was off. So i says, "hey maybe i can spiral with the wrap still on." Low and behold it's working like a champ. So I says,"wonder if it works on thread holder." Any body tried this? Jeffrey,
For this issue, some folks simply put a rubber band on the spool of thread and run the tag end of the thread off the spool under the rubber band. The band provides enough tension to insure that the balance of the thread remains tight on the spool, but with the right band, lets the thread be used naturally for wrapping. Good luck Re: Metallic thread stability

Must be using pro wrap, my suggestion is decorate the Christmas tree with it, throw out whatever remains and go with a better metallic thread. Seriously though Pro Wrap and I just don’t get along well and I changed brands and solved my problem. Rogers suggestion is a good one, I do like their colors but for me I don’t care for it’s handling characteristics.
