Larger reamers

I need to ream some large grips. 3/4-7/8 -1 inch. My reamer set is only good up to under 3/4”. Looking for where to fine larger reamers, don’t have any blanks large enough to make one. How do you guys do this? Need to do both cork and Winn grips. I’d rather not use cork rings if I don’t have to. Thanks

You can make reamers from wooden dowel rod if need be. And keep in mind that the Flex Coat reverse pilot bits will suffice to enlarge EVA bores, too.

Batson has a new set for the big stuff. It has an xl and an xxl that should handle what you are wanting to do

Buy a drum-sander belt in the grit you desire, cut a half-inch (or so) wide strip from the belt in a spiral - going around and around the belt. Use contact cement to fasten the back of the sanding-belt strip in an open spiral around the rod blank segment. One sanding belt will build four or five reamers of different diameters at a total cost of four or five bucks. I have used such a set of reamers for over 20 years with complete satisfaction. If the butt section of a broken rod is too small in diameter (!) you can shim it out by wrapping it with tape before you affix the sanding strip.
