Any good reason why the microwave guide set comes with with a ring size 5 but the tip-top that goes with the microwave guide set only comes in a size 4 .

I don't know, but I'll bet American Tackle would. Regardless of why, the difference is inconsequential.

Good morning Glenn,

The tip tops that are recommended for these sets are the Ringlock Light tops. They come in Duralite and Nanolite. The ring size 5 is what you are referring to. Here is the link to our webpage that has the different colors. Contact you favorite American Tackle dealer to get what you need.

At this time we use Batson Alps tops, which match the MicroWave sets very nicely.
Here is a link;

For the Airwave, we stock Amtak tops in Blk/Silver, link:

Glenn,

Like Chris mentioned above, you cannot go wrong with RingLock tips.

Not only are they 316ss but with the Ring Lock design the ceramic is protected and any chance of ring loss is minimal.

When the MicroWave guides were created we also designed the 5mm RingLock Light top to match them.

All of our distributors should have them in stock and ready to go.. here is a link to them on MudHole for a visual.
