Spinning rod out of a fly blank

Any recommendation on a good fly blank to make a spinning rod out of it needs to be 7 foot and have the correct power and rating to cast 1/8 oz and lighter baits.

There are ultralight blanks with that characteristic that will cast better.

For what it's worth, years ago I put a spinning reel on a fly rod with 1 or 2 lb test line for a crappie rod. There was no feel and I had to watch the line for a bite. As Spencer said, you can buy ultralight blanks that cast much better and feel the bite.

If you want something to toss those light 1/8 oz. or lighter lures,
with a softer, more moderate action, a 2 or 3 weight fly blank is what I would use.
If you like a more moderate action, it will be fun.
If you want something a little faster with more backbone, than something in a 7' UL spin blank.

There are similar choices in lower priced RX7 (Revelation), and RX6 (Forecast).
Hope this helps,

Another great choice for you may be this blank from Mudhole. Its got all the ratings you are looking for and the price is real hard to beat. I have been using these blanks for a long time and they come in a variety of colors ....
