broken ferrule

I failed to fully seat a section of a rod I had just built and was test casting. It broke at the ferrule on the butt section of the rod, and I lost 1 1/2 inches of rod/male section. I can still insert the male end of the butt section into the next section far enough to avoid further breakage. But I'd like to know if there's a recommended fix.
TIA! Re: broken ferrule

How far is "far enough"? Re: broken ferrule

I would suggest seeing if the supplier would sell you a new butt section. Even if you repair some how the rod will not perform properly not the two pieces fit properly together. Bummer. Re: broken ferrule

An inch and a half is quire a bit, depending on how long the rod is and what the spec'd ferrule overlap was to begin with.

I sent it back to the blank maker for repair. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
