Has anyone used ThreadMaster One thread finish. I am curious how it compares with two part varieties, also how long is the cure time,

I have tried it and do not care for it.

Goes on thin, not much build up, dries in timely manner, but does not give the gloss and clarity of two part epoxy.

Varethane Triple Thick. If you want a one part finish, that'll do it for you. Expect to use about three coats.

Good enough for a quick fix to finish out the rest of the season but I would not use it on a new build for some of the above stated reasons.

Depends if your protecting the thread, or looking for a higher build finish that takes less applications, both protect the thread, both seal the thread, Perma gloss and TM #1 are tough, lighter and more flexible than epoxy finishes.

The ThreadMaster one is useful if you need a quick fix for someone needing the rod in a hurry, such as a tournament fisherman. I reminds me a lot of the old Gudebrod hard as nails finish. Both are water clean up, dry fast, very hard and flexible, and need multiple coats. However, the ThreadMaster one is a little more viscous. After it’s cured you can overcoat with epoxy if you wish, I other words you can use it as a CP or sealant. If you put on too thick a coat it gets a milky and is rubbery. I use it only for quick repairs for someone who does not want to wait.
