Want to remove original paint off of some E-Glass blanks and got some feedback to use Citristrip. My concern is that it said on directions on bottle not to use on vinyl, plastic and fiberglass . Will this product hurt the E-Glass blanks? Thanks Dennis

I have used it on ugly stix and other fiberglas blanks with no ill effects. Don't know about E-glass however.

I always put it on and let it sit overnight then scotchbrite it off under running water. It often takes more than one application. You could apply it, let it sit for a few hours then scotchbrite it and see how far it gets you. It's a messy process best done outside or at a utility sink. That's not to say I haven't done it in the kitchen. (best done when home alone!)

Dennis,
I used CitriStrip on two rods when I first started building rods. Lynn is correct in that it is a rather mild stripper and will probably require 2 or 3 applications and that it certainly is messy. I have found scraping the blank with a razorblade held 90* to the blank to be much easier, less time-consuming (30 minutes max), no mess and no cost for the stripper. I learned of the method on this site and so there will be others who agree.
