Great post, thanks! At the risk of sounding insubordinate, without guides, I think that is a pole rather than rod lol. The power and action are of little concern when viewing how many fish it catches. I am quite certain the pole could handle fish 4X or more of what we viewed. The point to be taken is that one does not need all that fancy, frilly, maybe even functional stuff to catch fish; no state-of-the-art CF or vintage 6-sided bamboo (hers is only 1-sided bamboo) blanks, titanium guides with unobtainium inserts, braided Aramid line, machined winding checks or $1000.00 Stella reels. As daddy Tom K. always says, use the lightest and fewest guides to get the job done. The girl in the video is a master; maybe we all can learn from her!

Hmmm ........ as for action I'd call it fast, maybe moderate fast. As far as power goes, definitely heavy or mag heavy. Would love to know the CCS numbers on that thing lol

Anyone notice how expertly she avoided high sticking? Her rod approaches a 90 degree bend on the hook set and thereafter it's not even close.

she uses the pole to reach the fish and set the hook then quickly gets the pole out of the way so she can hand-line the fish..very strong line and hook..no playing with the fish.
