Most metal style reel seats are aluminum which, I don't think, takes bluing very well. There may be a process I'm not aware of, however.

It's not a chemical process type of bluing, but you might take a look at Ceracote. It comes in a lot of different colors, including some that are perfect matches for blued metal, and works well on aluminum. Many gunsmiths do it. Duracoat can also match gun blueing very well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
