Gun blued reel seat

Anyone ever do a gun bluing on a skeleton reel seat? Any tips if so?

Most metal style reel seats are aluminum which, I don't think, takes bluing very well. There may be a process I'm not aware of, however.

Scott,

It's not a chemical process type of bluing, but you might take a look at Ceracote. It comes in a lot of different colors, including some that are perfect matches for blued metal, and works well on aluminum. Many gunsmiths do it. I have one locally who does a lot of it and his work looks good. If interested:

Duracoat can also match gun blueing very well.
