Can anyone help me find out what older Fuji guides are worth. As I have access to many older Fuji guides. I just stared building Rod last year at the young age of 65. My friend is sending pictures of boxes with Model#. One box has Fuji Guide then under that hasBER-M then under that it has SPCG -25. Does anyone know thiese particular guides. Thanks for any you can give me.

Older guides are typically worth very little because newer types and styles are most often preferred by the custom rod building crowd. Where older guides have some value is among those who perform rod repair on a regular basis. But even then, older guides are not worth any sort of premium.

You could possible find an older component supply catalog listing those guides and get some idea what they originally sold for. They'd likely be worth somewhat less now.

Thank you Tom, do people still build with recoil guides? Do they hold any value, I see them on Mudhole and Getbits and they are pretty pricey.
And do you know anything about Harnell Rod blanks I think that is how it was pronounced.

There is a lot of history with the older Harnell and Harrington rod blanks. Some folks continue to like them.

Recoil guides remain modern type guides and are quite popular with many.

I think I will have to purchase some of the recoil guides. I buy a lot of Rainshadow SWB blanks I guessing The guide Spacing for recoil guides are the same as the Fuji or Alps guides. I do my guide Spacing layout according to Batsons guide Spacing blueprints. You been a big help once again Thank You.

Are they recoil guides, or are they the old Aetna foul-proof guides? They look similar but are different. The recoil guides are nickel titanium , and the foul-proof guides are Monel stainless. There is Still some demand for the old foul-proof guides. As far as old ceramic guides, they are not in much demand, except for restorations and replacements, as Tom mentioned. The modern guides are much better made, making them much more durable and lighter. As Tom mentioned the older Fiberglass blanks have a lot of history, and some people love them for the nostalgia they bring.

Thanks Norman for your info as far as these recoil or foul-proof guides I don't know the difference as my friend is just sending pics of all of this inventory He just acquired. The pics looks like it says Fleto #18 on one of the boxes.And these guides are the Shiny ones not the dull looking ones
