Hello all,
I've been doing some research on some possible blanks for a jetty rod and ran across these 2 lines on Mudhole. They are both supposedly very durable Glass rods. But what is the difference between the 2? And for Rock Fish/Small lings on HUGE rough jetties is there somthing better? This will be my first build so I don't want it to be a pricey blank.I will be fishing with various methods for fish up to 5 pounds. Usually using heavier jigs (1-2 oz) with paddle/curley tail baits. Thank you, Re: CRB Gator Glass vs CRB Value E-Glass

Hello Derick - Both CRB Series of rod blanks are very tough and durable for what you are wanting to do. I would give the edge to the CRB Gator Glass for the type of build you are considering. Here is a quote from the Mud Hole Custom Tackle web-site - Gator rod blanks are arguably the toughest fiberglass blanks available! If you are rough on rods, then you need to try these Gator blanks because they are very tough and stand up well to abuse, making breakage unheard of! You won't be disappointed! Also, for those builders that have never viewed the CRB Gator Glass Rod blanks, here is a link - [www.mudhole.com] - Thank You Bob McKamey Mud Hole Custom Tackle bobm@mudhole.com Edited 1 time(s). Bob,
Is there a noticable difference in action? Is thr gator blank whippy and overly soft in the tip like an Uguly Stick? Re: CRB Gator Glass vs CRB Value E-Glass

Action and power is going to vary from rod blank model. The tips are not whippy like a Ugly Stik. My email is listed below, if you would like to contact me about specific models. Thank You! Bob McKamey Mud Hole Custom Tackle bobm@mudhole.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
