I need to know how to determine which inside diameter I need for my rod blank. Is the inside diameter based on the back of the seat
or the front of the seat? I know where I want to locate the reel seat based on my other components, just need to know which location to take the measurements. Thanks. Re: FUJI ACSM REEL SEAT

I take the measurements from the back at where the reel sear bumps up to your handle since the widest suction of the blank is at that point of a blank. Glenn McMurrian Re: FUJI ACSM REEL SEAT

I tend to size the reel seat to fit my hand and shim or bush to the blank as needed. Depends on the type seat you choose.

Take a measurement on your rod where you want the reel to stop. That is the measurement of the reel seat. On exposed seats it is the back of the reel seat Re: FUJI ACSM REEL SEAT

Measure where you want the butt end of the reel seat to be. If the ID of reel seat is slightly smaller you can ream the seat to get a perfect fit. In my opinion, It’s better for the ID to be a little smaller than larger.

Wouldn't it be nice if manufacturers or suppliers of fitted seats were to provide this info? They might even sell more seats if they would. Re: FUJI ACSM REEL SEAT

John,
If you use the fitted bait casters, they come in a variety of sizes that will match the diameter of the blank - measured in mm. - where the rear of the reel seat is to fit. Take care Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
