Address correction

I have been building rods for many years and have never ever had this particular issue.

On a recent shipment - via UPS - I mailed out the rod as expected.

The rod was received in perfect condition and the client was happy with the rod.

Then, the other day, I received a notice for additional charges on this particular shipment.

It turns out, that I made a mistake on one number on the zip code of the recipient of the rod.

It is not a big deal, but it just alerts others to be extra careful on the address information.

UPS has a policy that any address change that is required to deliver the package requires extra billing to the tune of $16.40.

So, now the $30 shipping amount just went to $46.40 because of MY error on one digit in the zip code.

Just don't make my one mistake that I have made in the years of shipping rods and addressing labels.

Best wishes.

Thanks for the heads up Roger.

This really brings up the question: What does UPS do to compensate customers for THEIR errors with misdirected packages, etc?

It can be quite amazing to watch the unintended trail that items take using the package tracking features from various shippers. I've had packages sent around the country - sometimes back to the same sorting center for a second time before it eventually gets here. One package was to arrive "Tuesday" from Pennsylvania. Tuesday came and the package had just arrived in Florida - I live in Wisconsin.......
