Light Musky Blank

First post, but I have learned a great deal as a lurker over the past year or so. I am looking for a musky blank around 8 feet for lures in the 1-2 ounce range, mostly spinners and small twitch baits. Hoping to find a blank in the 3-4 ounce range to make a lighter, easier handling rod. The SCIV 7'10" swimbait blank looks ideal, unfortunately no more blanks from St. Croix and Rod Geeks doesn't make a similar blank. I've also looked at blanks from MHX, Phenix, Rainshadow and Liberty, but it is hard to me to know if the blanks with the proper lure ratings have a stiff enough tip to figure 8 with. I know there are some true "musky blanks" that work fine with those lure sizes, but I am hoping to make something lighter in weight than I would get with those blanks. Thanks for any advice you can give.

[rodgeeks.com] The St Croix SCV 7'11" is still available from Rodgeeks, also Rodgeeks has an 8' that would fit into what you are looking for [rodgeeks.com] . Batson has a REVM710MH [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com] .

Hello Peter -- Here is a link to a MHX Swimbait rod blank that is currently being used in Wisconsin and Minnesota as a lighter Muskie Rod. Some anglers also use it for trolling application for Muskies - [www.mudhole.com] - Thank You
