What is the best way to attach guides for test casting?
Feels like masking tape on a tuna spinning rod cast wouldn't be strong enough . .
60lb braid to 60-80 leader and 3 to 8oz lures

Electrical tape or duct tape would work, although tend to leave some residue that must be cleaned off. Conversely, masking tape will work but you'll likely have to use several winds per guide.

Small Plastic tie wraps will work.

I use a few wraps of masking tape then add small zip ties to anchor them in place.

I use a fine line plastic tape. Red in colour with white backing about 1/2" incredibly strong. Its not the flexible type you use for pin stripes etc. I bought from an auto paint store. Ill check the name for you. I use it for load testing PE8 jigging rods with 10Kg. I have used making tape in the past for top water rods and had no problem casting or even catching a few fish! But the red tape is the bomb.
