ATC MW12 as Fly Rod Stripping Guide?

I see ATC is marketing its UltraModern MW12 as a stripping guide for both conventional and fly rods.

Anyone used a MW12 as a fly rod stripping guide, and, if yes, how it it work and for what weight rod or rods?

I'm at best uncertain about the MW12's aesthetics for a fly rod, but I suppose I could get over it for a casting performance boost.

Thanks in advance.

The MW12 is designed for the 3-6 wt fly... the MW18 on the 6-10 wt.

So far real world testing is super positive! ... they help the novice casters and has no ill effect on professional casters.

Looks great and works great.

Great thing about them is you can retrofit old fly rods... use standard fly rod guide spacing.

Thanks, Don.

Guess I'll just have to stop being a stuck in the mud traditionalist long enough to give the MW12 a try.

Many accomplished fly casters use the aperture created by pressing the tip of the thumb and the tip of their forefinger of their stripping hand together as their stripping guide - guys like Lefty.

Yep, that's the way I was taught.

I was not sold on MicroWave until I tried a set on a heavier freah water spinning rod. It was great.

Just wish one of the rings was an agate so I could have my cake and eat it too!

Looks like it will go good with their Titan series ringlock fly guides. This is my new go to single foot fly guide since Fuji quit making Ti framed L guides.
