Ok so I got the email from Get Bit regarding Batson discontinuing the Eternity line up. Any word on a replacement?

Say what? .... I didn't get that E mail. I am waiting on an Eternity blank I ordered from Get Bit..... it was back ordered. I got the components I ordered from them but they sent me the wrong insert for the reel seat I ordered. I wrote them an e mail regarding the mix up and asked them when they expected to have the blank back in stock. They told me they expected them this past Thursday or Friday. I hope I get my blank.

I emailed Utmost about Eternity closeouts after I got the Get Bit email last week.
Carol said Batson has not put the blanks on sale right now.
However she mentioned a replacement series will be announced in July.

David, I was a bit bummed when I read it. Guess we r just gonna have to wait and see what July will bring. Hope they are as light, equal in sensitivity or more so and cheaper .

Yes the RainShadow Eternity line of bass rod blanks is coming to an end – so get them while you can as they are no longer being produced.
A new line of U.S. manufactured bass rod blanks will be introduced in July at ICAST and are currently in production. This new offering will include 13 different models (spin, cast and crankbait) at a very competitive price.

The Eternity2 Fly rod blanks will continue production.

Correct, all the the USA made bass blanks are no longer being produced... We are out of stock on the ETES72M-SS but still have at least a few of all the other models (some more than others) but once they're gone they are gone. We are not doing a "clearance sale" on our end.

Correct. All Eternity models beginning with ETEC or ETES will no longer be available once existing stock is depleted. We still have limited stock on hand for all models except the ETES72M-SS which has sold out. The ETES610MXF-SS and the ETES72ML-SS are running low and we expect them to be sold out shortly. I hope this helps.

I e mailed Get Bit about my back ordered ETES610MXF. I am extremely happy to report that they have gotten said blank back in stock, and it should be going out "in the next day or two". I have wanted to build on this blank since I was a rod building infant. Can't wait !!! This is going to be a very special build because it will be on what is, from all accounts, a very special blank. Seems a shame to discontinue a series that gets the kind of reviews that I've read about Eternity blanks.

My guess is that the series that will be replacing the Eternity, is going to be an awesome blank. My only hope is that it has a nice smooth finish. I'm not a fan of the unsanded finish on the NFC HM x ray blanks.

It's a RainShadow blank not an NFC, always a smooth or painted finish with us (nothing to worry about there). Every product in every industry goes through a life cycle, some are longer than others.

You'll be happy with your Eternity and should be with the new model coming out.

James, I just had a very recently built Etes72m-ss break. Please advise as to what I need to do with this blank.

Thanks
Tom

James, thank you for the directed reply, I am very happy to hear that the new series is going to have a smooth finish. As far as me being happy with my Eternity blank, I have no doubt that I will be anything less than ecstatic with it. I have loved every Rainshadow blank I have built on. They're number one in my book.

Don't you hate when you reread your post the next day and see that you had a major omission in it? lol What I meant to say was, I am going to be "happier than a pig in slop" with my ETES610MXF :o)
