Question for those you paint rods

Hey guys, so im doing 2 rods.. Ive looked into finding the color, dupicolor and DuPont dont have what i need.. I went to the classic car restoration place, and hes going to give me an estimate on monday after he talks to his supplier.. He has to see the smallest amount he can get before he gives me an estimate.. The color is basically mexican pink.. (Trust me, it hurts me too.. But thats what the girl wants) so he cant mix the color in the shop.. He uses a acrylic water base with klasskote as a finish.. The primer has a adhesive agent in it.. Obviously he can only put so much flex in the mix.. With that in mind, he has concerns about it holding up.. Im going to have to sign a waver in case it fails..

My question is what a fairly decent price for 2 blanks? And has a
Anyone tried a acrylic base before?

I can always go the other route, keep the blanks black and go with pink components, but it seems like there isnt a neon hot pink thread, or EVA on the market..
Google "mexican pink" you'll see what i mean.. If anyone does know where to source components these colors, please let me know.. The winn grip pink is ok, but i cant find it in full grips, just split..

Any comments will help.. Thanks guys

Have you been to the NERBs Face book site? Recent post of the pink EVA they sell there, looks close to me.

Is the Rodgeeks "neon pink" pink enough?

[rodgeeks.com]

Their colors hold up well and no guess work involved.

Go to your hardware store and pick up pink spray paint and spray away. It works very very well for very little money.

Or a touch of Coral:

Or Sweet Pea:

Maybe Candy Pink:

Fairytail pink?

Hot pink?

Ballet Slipper pink?

Best wishes.

Mudhole carries Fuji thread.

A couple of different pink colors in their line including "hot pink"

I have about 3 spools of hot pink wrapping thread that I have used all of the time in the past for wrapping ice fishing rods. When fishing in a dark fish house a nice long wrap of hot pink really helps the fisher folks see the tips of their rods when the fish bite.

Here are some pink blanks that Mud Hole sells as well:

Here is an inexpensive pink blank as well:

I have used several of the Mudhole Pink blanks for making rods for some of the children of some of my fishing friends that have all worked very well.

Good luck

Anthony, For about $3.50 a jar you can get CreatX auto air paint and mix your own Mex-pink, prep your blank and wipe in on with a foam brush.

Anthony,Skip the airbrush and get a small gun like they use for touch ups. You'll be there all day with an airbrush, the paint mist is like smoke.
It takes a lot of passes to get a solid cover.
