I am going to try setting up a Micro Wave Guide lay out on a 7ft med/hvy med fast action casting rod with the guides on top so does any have a good layout system for this type of setup.

Herb is correct. Tape the guides on at the suggested locations then load test and test cast. The good news is the distance from reel to stripper is less critical for a bait caster than a spinning rod. About one half of the bait casters I've built 7 1/2' or less needed 1 additional running guide. I don't biuld many bait casters so perhaps my experience is not representative.
