I build off a general purpose formula given by Fuji. After it’s wrapped, I static load test it before epoxy.
So far I haven’t had any issues all my rods can handle horsing in big fish. I can cast 70-75 yards with my 7ft bass rods with a 3/8 weight. My stripper guide is normally 23 to 24 inches away from the center of my casting seat on a 7ft to 7ft 2in rod. Both my G loomis and St.Croix factory rods the line goes below the blank when I load the rod by pulling on the line. My custom rods don’t do that, the line slightly touches the top of the blank. Right or wrong way to do it, I don’t care. If it works for you, who are they to tell you, you’re wrong. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 06/07/2019 01:09AM by Jason Yu.
