So now we can’t call titanium guides titanium any more? Do we have to refer to titanium guides by their alloy composition, such Ti-6Al-4V guides? Or should we refer to the titanium grade such as titanium grade 5 vs grade 2I guides. Maybe it would it be less confusing to talk about alpha vs beta titanium alloys? Get REAL! You can call them any thing you want! I’m still calling them titanium guides, knowing that they are a titanium alloy. Now I’m done.

You actually have at least four grades that are all considered to be commercially pure and unalloyed. You might say it has to do with the amount of impurities found normally in a pure metal or crystal.

A little like grading diamonds:)

And to Tom's point, I think the gist was conveyed back in the very first post. If the second post was a serious material inquiry it would have been more than two words and given some background regarding confusion about guide frame materials. Rick was just stirring the pot a bit, which he did, in spades.
