I'm looking at building a drop shot rod and have it narrowed down to the following blanks......Rainshadow Immortal, Liberty or Bushido. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you! Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

None of the above, but I'm a SCV snob. If you want to stay with one of the listed brands, I'd go with a Rainshadow Eternity. It's the closest thing to a SCV I've found. Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

Is the Eternity that much better than the Immortal? Is it really worth it at nearly double the cost? Thoughts fellas.... Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

Don't know if it's worth double the Immortal, but it's USA made and that is worth it so some. Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

Chris The eternity is a hi end blank made by North Fork Composites in the USA for Batson the Immortal is made in China. I have both but for the price difference I think the Immortal is a close second. Tom Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

I have never built on a Liberty blank but the other two are outstanding. If it will help I would weight all of them and pick the lightest because they are all pretty much equal except for that (but I am not familiar with the Liberty). If you are going to haul your fish then the Bashido is a bit stronger. Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

Not going to haul them but I mainly fish the St. Lawrence River for smallies so on the average 3-5 lb'ers that are crazy strong because of the river current. Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

You won't go wrong with either the Eternity or the Immortal version of the drop shop blank. James Taylor Batson Enterprises BatsonEnterprises.com | RainShadowRodBlanks.com | ALPSForeCast.com | Build2Fish.com Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

Point Blank 701LXF.. I have built many drop shot rods using this blank. And they will float if dropped in the water, with a lite reel attached. Re: Drop shot rod...if you had to choose from these 3 blanks?

Chris, I have built many D/S rods on both the Immortal and Eternity 2 blanks. They are both very great drop-shot blanks. If you can handle the extra money I would go with the Eternity blank. They are absolutely outstanding blanks. I just finished one for a buddy in my bass club and he loves it! I don't have one personally; but, I am tempered to build one for my personal use!
