My father in law broke one of his favorite rods a couple years ago right almost flush with the back of the grip(now missing about 4 inches of blank and fighting butt) where can I find small pieces of blank to graft on here? Re: Extension piece

From the Salvation Army, Good Will, or other place where one can pick up a rod for a couple of $$. Then, go to the part of the blank that will match what you need, cut it out of the rod, clean it up and glue it in.
p.s. You can also go to one of the rod building shops with the rod and go through their pile of blank pieces to find a piece that can be used for the repair. Good luck Re: Extension piece

Go to your local tackle shop or sporting goods store and see if they have any broken rods. Most are willing to give them to you.
