Russ Peak Graphite Rods

Russ Peak was of course famous for his fiberglass fly rods, which he rolled himself. When graphite became popular he also crafted a few graphites. Does anyone know who rolled the rod blanks for him? And about when they came on the market? I've found an 8' 3/4/5 wt. labeled "Cairnton Chalk Stream " and I'd like to learn more about it.
Thanks

I believe that Kerry Burkheimer purchased the remnants of Russ's operation. Not sure who rolled the carbon blanks for Russ but it may have been JK Fisher or Scott. I just can't quite remember.

Hi Jack,

Talon Graphite rolls a blank series called Cairnton: [www.talon-graphite.com]

And, Talon rolls a blank series called Chalkstream for Anglers Workshop [www.anglersworkshop.com]

May want to give Talon a call to inquire about their older blank series: [www.talon-graphite.com]

According to a book I have on Fiberglass Fly Rods, Russ Peak did his fiberglass blanks at Conolon and Sila-flex. The book does not state where his Graphite came from, maybe try contacting Kerry Burkheimer, like Tom K said, he did wind up with the Peak equipment and they were friends, with Peak teaching Kerry about blank rolling and rod building. If anyone would know where the graphite came from, it would be him.
