Need Advice: Trimming blank from 87 to 85

Hello everyone,

I ordered a Point Blank blank PB731MHXF, would it be a bad idea to trim the blank down from the butt end from 87" to 85"? What changes could I expect from doing this?

I'm using the rod for Texas Rigs ranging from 1/4-3/8oz.

Thank you,

Shouldn't make a noticeable difference at all cutting off 2".

Go for it. Trim only from the butt.

You can expect no change. The only thing that will happen is that the blank will be lighter by 2" of missing butt. Go for it and enjoy it.

Have fun

John

Might want to check on possible warranty issues.

Trimming 2" from the butt, the action will become slightly slower and a tad bit of power will be lost. But you'd be talking a miniscule amount.
