I would like to do a survey, with your help, to find out what are the most popular lathes used by rod builders for future articles on tools I will be doing. Thanks in advance for your input. Re: Rod Lathe Survey

Hello Bill.
What lathe are you asking about? My rod lathes (2) are Pac Bay. My light wood lathe is a Grizzly. My Full wood lathe was a Central Machine. My Mini Metal was also a Central Machine. Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm interested in the rod lathe, such as PacBay, Alps, Renzetti, etc., etc. If I get enough rod builders to reply, I can figure out the top 3 or 4 and then I'll be able to adapt my tools to them. Thanks again. Re: Rod Lathe Survey

I have been using a Renzetti since 1980. Very dependable, and replacement parts are readily available.

I've used a Clemen's Rod lathe since the early 80's. These lathes are Renzetti lathes that were sold under the Clemen's brand. Solid and dependable. Re: Rod Lathe Survey
