I've just started building rod so this probably won't be an issue for a while, but I was wondering if it was legal for me to build rods from the suppliers online (mudhole, Fitbit, ect) and put my "brand" on it, or will this be infrequent? Some guys I work with think I need to jump on a brand name and put them on the rods I make.

Jody,

That is how it is done. Mudhole is a retailer and their brand of blanks is MHx. You would be building an assembled rod, using components supplied from multiple sources therefore you are the manufacturer.

If I have decals for the components used to build a rod I usually put them all on the rod plus my own custom decal.

Take a look at Decal Connection's (on the left) web site, to see examples of builders logos and names.
