I am new to rod building and I am looking for info on building a knuckle buster rod for using on down riggers for chinook. I need to know what blanks to use for a 10'6 2 pc rod and I have heard of specific placement of the eyelets. Thanks for the help Re: Knuckle buster rod

Trolling rod ?? because the rod is in a consent bend from the BAIT an line drag , you should look at a SPIRAL wrap rod , so it would not rotate in the rod holders when trolling I think William Sidney AK Re: Knuckle buster rod

Batson BP1266, or BP1265. I use the 1266, because it also makes a decent rod for other techniques in it's own right. Re: Knuckle buster rod

I used a knuckle-buster revolving-spool casting reel when I was a lad. We called them "knuckle busters" because they were no anti-reverse, no star drag, 1:1 direct drive reels. When you hooked a good one the backward-spinning reel handles would truly "bust your knuckles". I'm surprised they are still in use? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
