Hi Guys
I have made and given rods to everyone in my family and a few for myself and my wife and can make no more.
I sill want to use my rod making skills so I am trying to do wine glasses, have done some wraps including a
rose wrap and simple names. problem is that I think turning epoxy takes to long and is a bit thicker than I want.
My question is directed to the rod painters, is there a clear coat that I could use for this application ?

Use Permagloss. It drys quickly, and gives a very thin, hard and durable finish. However, it may require several coats depending on the depth of finish you want.

I second norm's advice..

Being on glass you dont have to worry so much about flexibility as with a fishing rod.. im not so sure how permagloss will be in terms of food safe.. Being a drinking glass.. Its durability is top notch though..

If you do opt for permagloss, Apply it with a tooth pick.. It will give a much thicker build off the bat, still verry thin, but a higher build then The usual foam brush approach...

Might be benificial to hit a craft store like Michaels, they may have something in a spray from thats 100% food safe, dishwasher safe, etc. I would suggest a clear acrylic spray, but again without doing any research, i cant say how food safe this would be..
