Ferrules for St Croix fly rod

I'm about to build a couple of St Croix 8wts, I see there are plugs in the male ends but do I need to put ferrules in the female ends? Thanks! Re: Ferrules for St Croix fly rod

The tip fits down over the butt section. That's all there is to it.

Depending on when they were made , the newer ones say you don't have to wrap the Ferrules , I just feel better if I wrap the ferrules, no matter when it was made , it don't hurt a thing & I feel better ,
some builder's [ like me ] do wrap, some don't , [on the newer blanks] , William Sidney AK Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
