Hi All,
I am looking for a mortising bit for use of the custom insert i make? I want to do some fly reel inserts for some lighter action rods. Thank you for any information and pointing me in the right direction. Chad Re: Mortising Bits

Do you mean a Forstner bit? If so, they are available at most hardware stores. Re: Mortising Bits

He is most likely referring to mortising the insert, not the recess for a hidden hood Ron Weber Re: Mortising Bits

I believe you're looking for a fingernail bit for your router? If so, I purchase mine on-line through woodworking stores such as Rockler, MLCS and Woodcraft. They're usually around the $20 range, give or take a few bucks. Make sure you order the correct size radius and go with a 1/2" shank so long as your router has a 1/2" collett. Re: Mortising Bits

Sorry if I'm not allowed to do this.
I would check out grizzly.com they have all kinds of tooling for wood and metal lathes. From furniture makers to gunsmithing. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
