Carbon fiber Grips

I have no experience with carbon fiber handles like CFX. Is the install procedure different from cork? Re: Carbon fiber Grips

It's a good idea to relieve the ends with a drill bit close to the size to which you will be reaming to get past the hard ring where the CF ends. If you don't, and have to break through that hard ring with the reamer it's easy to over ream. Other than that, they're easier than cork. They can scratch some blanks during test fitting , so keep an eye on those ends. Re: Carbon fiber Grips

Thank you all for your input. Just finished a split grip and thanks to your advice it turned out perfect. I also noticed that the carbon sheath that is folded over the end of the composite core prevented the winding check from sitting flush against the grip. The end relief and some careful sanding solved the problem. Thanks again. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
