Hey guys, just a ? on the best epoxy to use as far as reel seats, cork rings to blanks,etc... several options out there. I started using weldwood for gluing cork rings together seems like a good glue as far as that goes. Weldwood is a contact cement. Could i use this glue for eva grips? Thanks, Roger Re: Epoxy glue, which one to use?

Thanks, Roger Are you talking about cutting EVA and gluing it back together? If so Weldwood Contact Cement is the best option. If you are talking about using that as an adhesive to bond the EVA to the rod you can and Rodbond would work as well. Reel seats would be best with Rodbond or an epoxy. Roger,
I prefer to use and trust chemically catalyzed glue (epoxy) whenever possible over evaporative (air drying) or moisture-curing bonding agents for most rod building applications. Chemically catalyzed epoxy will set and cure no matter the conditions where as evaporative and moisture-curing glues require exposure to air and/or humidity in the atmosphere to dry. The difference being CURING versus DRYING. How much atmosphere reaches the center of a reel seat or 6in cork grip? While I am certain other may disagree, that is simply my opinion and am not willing to debate the subject. Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE. Re: Epoxy glue, which one to use?
