In search of a medium light dropshot blank. From what I'm reading, I believe I want a Mod. Fast action. Do you guys have some favorites for dropshotting? All I'm really seeing are the Rainshadow inshore blanks and the Phenix Maxim.

I normally prefer XF action for dropshotting...

Check out the Bushido DS69

If you do not want quite that fast, Bushido SJ series

See I thought XF was what most companies labeled as a dropshot rod, but I read a few people recommending a softer tip and saw a few videos on youtube recommending the same thing. Sometimes I feel like the more research I do, the less I know. Thank you Don. Open now to all medium light recommendations, not just Mod Fast.

If the blank powers are equal the xf blank will have the softest tip.

I agree with XF or at least F, and agree that it's the power that determines how stiff the tip is. I think that a soft lively tip to allow easy detection without applying much reaction to the fish, then a solid easily engaged butt for the hookset is the right combo for drop shot.

I had a misunderstanding of what a soft tip meant. Plenty of options now, thanks guys!

Our Rainshadow lineup has a variety of Dropshot options, though most are XF or F.

If you want a USA Made Rod Blank go with our highest end Eternity series ETES610MXF - [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com]

Our Immortal lineup is a truly high performance at a great price. IMMS610MXF and MMS72ML - [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com]

Then there’s a Revelation lineup which are a staple for custom Bass rods. REVS610MLXF and REVS610MXF - [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com]

There has never been a better time to get into custom rods with all the great options out there.
