I just switched over to trying a new finish (Diamond 2), and liked everything about the finish except I got a couple white milky spots on a couple guides. Almost looks like moisture is in the wrap, but I just don't see how thats possible as it has never even been outside. Possible contamination? Is this a common occurrence with different finishes?

Just wanted to see if this is common, and what I can do to correct any possible issues as I really like the characteristics of the Diamond 2. Heres a picture showing what I am talking about, hopefully it shows up. BTW, no color preserver was used.

Could be amine blush. Put the rod in a warm area, even in direct indoor sunlight for a few days and it may clear up.

Never had any issues with D-2. I do dry at 85F

To be honest it looks alot like a finger print... Not trying to say that's what it is for sure.. But it is definatly a surface blemish.. Notice how the light is distorted across the one spot.. After it cures, take a micro fiber cloth and try buffing the area...

I too thought it was a fingerprint at first, but it’s not. After searching amine blush, it seems to be just that. Also seems like a few others have had a similar issue. Mornings have been some what cool and quite humid here in south Florida. Will see if some sun light helps clear it up.
