I'm relatively inexperienced in the realm of bass fishing. I want to build myself a nice rod, primarily for Texas rigged plastics. Looking for something in the 6'6" to 7' area, medium heavy, fast to extra fast action. What are some of your favorite blanks for this? Don't want to go cheap, but I also don't want to pay a premium for very small improvements. Re: Worm rod

Seth,
You can not go wrong with Mudhole's Mag Taper MB843-MBX. It's my "go to" worm rod, and it is very reasonable priced. Don Campbell don@sensorfishingrods.com Re: Worm rod

I agree with Don above. I own multiple MB843's. They are great as a worm rod but you can get away throwing much more than texas rigged plastics on it. Re: Worm rod

Our RainShadow REVC68MH or 72MH would work perfectly - [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com]
If you want to take it up to a higher-end blank (but still a good price) I would go with the Immortal line, IMMC73HXF or IMMC72MH - [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com] James Taylor Batson Enterprises BatsonEnterprises.com | RainShadowRodBlanks.com | ALPSForeCast.com | Build2Fish.com Re: Worm rod

Eternity is just a little too rich for my blood. Re: Worm rod

Seth, with the Immortal series, it would serve you well to go by the blank's specs, (lure weight range, and line weight range) and not by the named power. (M, MH, etc) If you go by their specs and compare them to other blanks with the same specs, I think you'll see what I mean.
The MB843 that the others mentioned has a lure weight range of 1/4 - 3/4, a line weight range of 10 - 17# test, and has a named power of medium heavy. The Immortal IMMC68M has identical specs. I have built on 3 Immortal blanks thus far, and I can say with certainty that they fish to their specs. Named powers really don't mean a whole lot. It's the specs of the blank that matter. The Immortal blanks are awesome blanks, and the Immortal IMMC72MH that James mentioned is phenomenal. IMO if you're building a rod for flipping and pitching in and around heavy cover, you'd be hard pressed to find a better blank to build it on, at any price. Awesome awesome blank. Edited 1 time(s). If I get more into it, I’ll probably build a flipping/pitching rod. Right now, this will be for bank fishing on a lake. I’ll give that Immortal another look. Anyone have an opinion on the Rod Geeks B469MHF? Re: Worm rod

We strongly believe the B469MHF is a great blank, for what it's worth. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
