What is a spiral wrap?

Typical used on rods with casting reels that are used for big fish that put much pullling force on the rod. The spiral wrapping will bring the force to the bottom where it wants to go like a spinning rod. This prevents twisting ,makes a more stable rod while fighting a fish and less guides needed to keep the line off the blank when loaded. Many like myself like even lighter rods such as bass or inshore spiral wrapped as well. They also cast just as well as a casting rod with guides on top. Re: What is a spiral wrap?
